Mark Schaefer: author, blogger, podcaster, strategist, educator, and all around kick ass dude.

In my opinion, Mark is one of the most insightful and level headed people in the world of Social Media and Strategy. He doesn’t get wrapped up in fads for the sake of following the crowd, but instead artfully surveys and analyzes the digital landscape and breaks down the trends into easily understood concepts. This is what makes him such an effective blogger, author and educator: his knack for practical insight.

Recently, Mark wrote a post called content shock that has gotten a tremendous amount of attention, and rightfully so. In this post he details how the adoption of “content marketing” as a central component of a strategy is not sustainable. As the web gets more crowded and noisy, it becomes more difficult to stand out. In today’s podcast, we discuss this same phenomenon across everything, from social media, to apps, to people.
